They are OK, but I prefer the Ultra Lt Wt which is to calf and not mid-calf. It is much cooler and feels the same.

These are made for hiking in warm weather. Please don't leave bs comments if you don't know for sure.

Depends what kind of weather you have for summer, but in general, I think they'd be a little overkill for the summer or warm/hot weather.
