This jacket says that it is a slim fit. Does it run small or pretty true to size or should I go up a size to allow more room for layering? I usually wear medium.

This jacket runs pretty true to size. If you're on the verge of a large you might consider sizing up to allow for a little layering, but it doesn't need much.
