That might not necessarily be true. If you size up and find out that it allows gaps to form in the torso or makes the arm holes too big then all of your thermal efficiency is left to the wind--literally. North Face isn't as athletically cut as some of the companies out there, so I don't know that I'd automatically jump a size. I think sticking to the sizing chart is best.

when buying a vest always buy it the next size up .. because most people wear sweaters under their vest
