So I noticed this thing doesn't have the Conduit SL laminate of its more expensive cousins. How does this deal with wet stuff?

This is NOT for "the wet stuff". This is for the "crazy ass cold" stuff.You definitely would want a shell for more than a medium amount of snowfall for an extended period of time.
