I am looking for hiking boots that can double for use with snow shoes and gators..any feedback on this? Thanks. Valerie

Hey, Valerie. This is possible with pretty much any hiking shoe or boot out there. Ideally, you're looking for good fit, durability, waterproofness and warmth - but you can achieve this combo a number of ways. To me, fit is most important, so I'd go with a shoe or boot brand that you know fits your foot. Chose a waterproof version. Wear comfortable, warm, wicking socks. I prefer merino. For extreme cold days you can put a neoprene layer over your boot. The Crescent Moon Neoprene Overbootie is a good example. I snowshoe run, and I actually use my biking booties over my lower profile running shoes to the same end. Then throw your gators on and go.
