Not really. It's newer, but it's the same material and has less pockets (no hand pockets).The pullover is actually warmer than the jacket form, because it has the monkey fur on the inside of the front (up against your belly), while the jacket does not. Thus, if you are cold with your jacket, a switch to the pullover could help. The pullover also has thumb loops, which is nice when layering under something.
