I tried this pack on in a store this weekend, and what really bothered me was the front belt. It's the only pack I've seen that has such thin front belt straps. Even with only 12 pounds in it, it seemed to cut into my stomach. Any thoughts on that? Could I switch out the straps with wider ones?

i've used this pack for hundreds of day trips and many ultralite overnites, and i've never even used the hip belt. i just tuck it away. this pack has always fit me so well, i never need it. even with 15-20 lbs. this has been a bomber pack for me.
