How is this coat any different from the Mointain Hardware Sub Zero Down Parka Women's? They both seem to have 650-down fill,a hood, and are water-resitant. The only difference it seems to me is that this one is more expensive?

The SL has got a laminate on the inside of the fabric (not waterproof, but very water resistant and windproof) and all the reinforcements as mentioned. It is also a bit shorter than the Parka for better harness compatibility. The parka is less heavy duty with better coverage for more comfort in day-to-day, more civilized, winter life. Hope that helps!

The other one says it's water resistant, but really the Conduit SL on this jacket is a fair bit more so. This one will be a bit warmer too, less casual. The Conduit SL is waterproof and windproof, the regular is only water/wind resistant. SL has reinforced shoulders, elbows, and sleeves that resist abrasion from ropes, ice, trees/branches. This is a highly technical jacket for mountaineering, the regular is a top of the line around towner.
