Is electrolyte rich sports drink better than plain water in replacing fluid loss during vigorous exercise?

for replacing fluid lost you mean water right? well we sweat out water yes. but with that water comes electroytes; salt, potasium and magnesium. so just drinking water is not enough because you aren't replacing the electrolytes you sweat out as well. if you just drink water during prolonged excercise you can end up hyponatremic. more people die in athletic events from hyponatremia than dehydration. so if you are sweating a good electrolyte drink is appropriate and "better" than just water. however this hydro boom is garbage in my opinion as i the first 3 of 4 ingredients are nasty man made sugars. drink nuun instead.http://search.backcountry.com/?q=nuun&x=0&y=0&avad=7149_0_cl_0
