What is better for Chicago weather, this (3 in 1) or the expedition?

With either jacket you could pretty must go lay out in the snow in Chicago. Looks like one main difference would be the hood where the Expedition is wire braced. Of the two my opinion is the Nomad for more waterproofing and versatility. Though honestly (I live in MN) I think you could probably drop down a level to something not as extreme and save some $$$. I mean one of the reviews on the Expedition says it'll be to warm if it's above 10 degrees out!
