some UIAA certified and ANSI certified helmets are certified under CE en12492 (like this one) as in the case of many Petzl sport and commercial helmets. This makes it seem as though they are compatible. But I do not work for UIAA or ANSI (or OSHA). There are slight differences in testing (8kn vs 10kn) and my understanding is that if it is certified for the workplace then it is safe for the workplace, but not vice versa. So my answer is a definite NO. Safety is important. Do not mix work and play. My quickdraws are not going to be used to tie down ladders, and I will not use my rope to tie down furniture in a truck. I will only use what is certified for use at work while I'm at work. Petzl does sell some ANSI certified helmets (the Vertex line) that have all the nice features of climbing helmets. You should be safe there. (I'm not liable for your safety)
