Is there any chance of an ungradable hd version in the near future? As in, when you make an hd version could we just upgrade the lens and still use the recorder part?

There is no way the recorder is capable of recording HD. There would be over 5 times the amount of pixels if switched to HD. I'm sure the guys that built the camera didn't build it for this specification.
