Would these be OK to wear if I predominately run on roads? I don't run all that far - only like 3-5miles per run / 2-3x a week - and I also like to wear trail runners for hiking. Would these fit the bill?

Yes, these would be fine. They're meant for trail running so they would clean house on a smooth road.I actually ran with these shoes on the road while I was traveling and couldn't run the trails. They're fine on the road as long as they're a little bit broken in. They tend to be quite a bit stiffer than a regular road shoe. Mine, at the time, were very broken in so they were fine. They're awesome for both though. I did have tons of problems with the laces breaking.....just as food for thought.
