I live in florida. I want a good boot that won't be too hot....

I live in florida. I want a good boot that won't be too hot. However, I'm heading to Alaska in May. I need something for cool, wet weather. Will this boot crossover?

depending on what kind of hiking you are planning for AK (and if you are in the interior or the coast) lightweight boots should still be fine- and those would be much more useful being in FL. I work in the interior of AK and use part leather part "breathable" fabric boots and I have been fine. If water proofing is required you might aim for something with few seems but not necessarily all leather.

Not sure you need the same product for FL as for AK! This would be great for Alaska - might want something lighter in FL.
