How does this compare to SPOT? The ACR is quite a bit more costly but does not appear to require a service. I believe SPOT uses a different sat. system.?????

The Spot allows you too communicate with the peeps at home too. A 911 call option is one of 4 communication functions. http://www.gpscentral.ca/products/spot.html
