some people say the top peels easy, can you do anything to stop that, or is it just a few mismade board that chip like that

I've seen people actually drill holes in their board and put nuts and bolts in to stop this/fix this. I suppose you could do that. It would be similar to the rivets in some of K2's ski line. Also keep in mind that this board has a one year warranty with K2, and a LIFETIME warranty with backcountry. So if your board starts peeling out of no where for no reason, you can send it back.
