I am about 6'3" 190, and ski pretty agressively on salomon 1080 guns. would these be a good choice?

These bindings DO have the upward release, what are you talking about? I just got a pair of these and they are super solid, although I don't recommend them for Guns, hey are too heavy for that ski, go get the marker Jester instead, they are about 1 lb lighter, the jester also has upward releaseNo, this is the single pivot race toepiece and it does NOT have upward release. Rossi/Look toepeices with upward release top out at DIN14, which is more than enough for every mere mortal.
