Hey, I'm taking a 5 month trip to south aisa, OZ and NZ, i'll be taking to few sets of clothes and other essentials, do you reckon this bag will be big enough for that kind of trip?

Should be. I camped for 10 days out of a 42L pack, and that was with a sleeping bag, pad, etc. If you pack light, as it sounds like you will, this should have plenty of room.
