At what size feet do you start to look at the wide - I have 11.5/12 sz. feet.

You should get a wide board with 11.5/12 size feet. Toe drag is the worst! You do have a couple options. You can get a wide board that will eliminate any toe drag. It will float in the pow good but it will be a little slow from edge to edge on the groomers. You might be able to find a good board that is MID-WIDE. The best thing to do if you still want the quickness of a regular-waisted board is to get some Plamer Plates. They raise you about .5-.75 inch and go under your binders. They work good to eliminate or lessen toe drag. I think Burton makes something similar as well

You are right on the fence of wide boards or not, so for you it really depends on your riding style. If you have noticed your toes drag in the past, you should go with a wide. Also, if you are going to primarily hit powder, you should go wide. If you stick to the park, stay normal for a quicker swing........ go wide bro. 12 is definitely in the wide range. Yeah the person above it right with it being on the fence, and think about whether u have toe drag... but with the custom x wide being such a powerhouse board you should just go for it. There is nothing wrong with that board and u wont have the question of whether it is wide enough. And in my opinion 11.5 is the line for wide boards, however depending on the board situation this could be tweaked. The custom x is not included in this, its a pretty narrow board with the waist width averaging around 250 Another +1 for the wide. a 250ish waist is too narrow for more than a 10.5/11 or so (depends on the boot) in my opinion. Wide boards float great in pow, and a stiff board with a quick sidecut like the custom X won't have any problem turning despite some extra width.I have a Custom X and I have size 13 boots. I was going to go with a Wide because I used to have a Gnu CHB but I got a really good deal on a normal Custom X. I surprisingly have not had much trouble with heel/toe drag at all. I would recommend a Wide but I wouldn't worry too much about it.hey i got the same size feet for you and i got a wide. its really nice, you wont be worrying about if your feet are dragging or not.
