Is this bladder BPA free? And does the water taste like plastic?

There is ALWAYS a plastic taste with a reservoir when you first get it. When you first get it, rinse it out several times and run (or suck) water through the drinking tube. After that, it really depends on how you use it. You don't have to rinse it after you use it if you're only drinking water--but rinse it once or twice before every use and it definitely improves the taste. I generally wouldn't drink water that's been sitting in it for more than a few days. The hydrapak bladders have a decent taste after a few uses as well.

Yes, Camelbak reservoirs have never been made with BPA. As far as the taste, I find that my Camelbak has the best tasting water out of all of the reservoirs I've ever used (no plastic taste.)
