The shell material feels more or less the same weight - I have the regular Gravity - but I think the Genesis is maybe a tad more heavier duty and sealed better while the Gravity series feels a bit more free movement wise. Hard to say. The Genesis has pit zips too. Hood is HUGE to my Super Hero. There's a thin fleece liner in the Genesis, but you'll need to layer if it gets below freezing.

I wore this jacket in 20-30 degree weather and 30-38 degree weather with wind both days. I only had a t-shirt under and in the 30's its perfect for me. In the low 20's you need to layer with a little fleace.
