How should the MT110s fit compared to road shoes? I currently wear a NIKE LunarGlide size 10, but purchased Brooks PureGrit's also in a 10 and have noticed way too much 'slide' while running trails. I can run in them, but my ankles are wrecked toward the end of each outing.

The fit of MT110s are between a soccer boot and a climbing shoe! I just received a pair of size 9s, so far so good... Gonna hike/run a few miles to feel them out.

Thanks for the feedback Connor! I just recently started running in the Brooks PureForm (9.5) and the size fit perfect, so the MT110s would probably fit the same in length. I'm reconsidering my trail choice and looking into the Salomon XR (CrossMax Guidance) for more support..

As more minimalist shoes, like the PureGrit's, they should fit snugly in length. They have wider forefoot widths to let the toes naturally splay out, but your toes should aaaaalmost be touching the end of the shoe. If you're looking to buy these, I would size them accordingly compared to your Brooks. If you think your Brooks are too floppy, go down a half size. As for your ankles, the minimal cushion and stability in these kind of shoes overworks the muscles in your ankles and calves, and it is normal to be super sore after a run, compared to your Nikes.
