I read on the scarpa website that these can be used with dynafit and other tech bindings for touring, and skied like a downhill boot on the way down. Is that so? It seems unreal.

Is that due to the hinged toe or the shell as a whole? It just seems to me that the hinge won't make a large difference in the overall performance.

Yes its real you may ski this boot with dynafit bindings. Now skiing like a downhill boot depends on what you are skiing . I would say it skis like a downhill boot with 100 flex .
