If I bought one regular and one long Aleutian sleeping bag, would it be possible to zip the two together to make a double-bag, or do you have to have two of the same size (both long, or both regular) for the mating to work?

Marshall, as long as one of the bags is RH zip and the other is LH zip they should mate together but you will have about 6 inches of surface that won't zip on the long bag.
