I walk dogs a lot during the winter and I need a lightweight hiking shoe which can withstand the slush of the North East coast and keep me warm. I want to know about the Insulation in terms of comparing it with the Merrell Arctic Fox 6 hiking shoe.

Leila- These North Face boots are Gore-tex so they are waterproof & are breathable. It keeps your feet dry without overheating, they are meant for hiking where you don't need insulation just support & performance. They weigh 1 lb 5.67 oz (614.4 g), pair: 2 lb 11.34 oz (1228.8 g) *based on Womens' 7 The Merrell Arctic Fox 6's are waterproof nubuk with primaloft 400g over the toes & 200g in the back & on the tongue. 2 lbs 5 ozs
