I've got the tiniest ankles and most women's boots are too big. How do these do? Will some padding and fitting work OK, or do they run quite wide?

Thanks so much for all the info - that really helps! I ski very hard but still need a good hiking boot and it's difficult to find one that'll do what I need with my skinny foot.

First, I come from a similar background and also have a narrow ankle. Second, you need to realize that no boot will fit like a glove out of the box especially one like this that is meant to be used touring & also in bounds. Whats great about Tecnica is that they make a variety of volume shell sizes to accommodate a broad spectrum of athlete needs. Bad news is that because boots are designed with this in mind so are the liners. I always end up taking my boot in after a few times out to get tweaked at a local shop. Third, not knowing much more than you have a narrow ankle I can't really tell you weather or not this is the perfect boot for you. But I can boast about how awesome it is: This shell in particular is a low volume shell which means it will be more snug around the toe box (bad for wide feet). The liner is a little better than some of the others out there because it can be heat moldable. It has a solid 100 flex which will make you happy when slaying pow or ripping a groomer or two. Also It has replaceable soles, so if you want to tour with these, it can be done. The best part about these interchangeable soles is that these boots are so easy to convert back and forth. This boot can be your all in one boot, no more buying specific touring boots or alpine boots! if any of this makes no sense, check out our gear wiki! http://www.backcountry.com/womens-ski-boots/gearwiki/7 Also with all of this said - there is no harm in buying a boot & getting it tuned up at your trusted boot fitter. The most important decisions about buying a boot that compliments your performance ability & makes your feet happy. I have always been a fan of Tecnica's performance and durability. http://shop.tecnicausa.com/Product/0101%2011%20VIVACROSSFIRE%20100%20GRY/ski-boots-viva-crossfire
