I have the jacket, but the label on the jacket list it as a XXL. I checked the tag in the pocket and it also has the jacket as an XXL. I ordered the jacket specifically because it was listed as a "Tall" size jacket.

The Arc'teryx web site does not list the Alpha available in a "Tall" size. Could I have been sent a Alpha SV "Regular" size jacket by mistake?

Whoa! I'm way excited at the possibility of an Alpha SV Tall. I'm 6'4" and have an SV in medium because my torso is not very broad (large is too big in shoulders and torso). The front is a little shorter than I'd like and the arms would be too short if they were any shorter. In all other respects, the Alpha SV is the best shell I've owned. Is there any chance that Arc-Teryx will continue to offer the Alpha SV in Tall going forward? It looks like my size in the color I prefer is gone (probably go for medium tall), but I would likely need to spring for such a jacket going if it came around again. Future plans for Alpha SV Tall or is this a one-time thing? Tell me Arc-Teryx will keep doing this amazing thing for those of us who are tall but not so broad...

My jacket has same labeling as Rico, i.e. paper price tag says "tall", but label inside the jacket doesn't (size large in my case). I'm pretty sure mine is tall based on the dimensions. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that none of the Alphas have a powder skirt, tall or otherwise. Looking at the inside of the jacket, I can't see how you would put one in without compromising the clean design. Hopefully someone from Arc will know the answer.

The Alpha SV I received does not have a powder skirt. The paper tag attached to the jacket is worded "Alpha SV Jacket Men's - Tall". But there is no label on the it to differentiate it from a "standard" Alpha SV. I am getting conflicting information concerning the powder skirt in the Alpha SV-Tall. Strange. The jacket I received doesn't have a powder skirt. When I got it, I wasn't concerned about the label not saying "tall", because the paper tag on the zipper said "tall". Plus the sleeves seemed longer than other jackets. I wasn't expecting a powder skirt because my older SV doesn't have one. Now I'm not sure. Any other way to tell?

Rico, Thanks for your question. Per the other post, please check to see if you have a powder skirt in the Alpha SV you received. The reason you will not find Alpha SV Tall on the Arcteryx site is this is an Arcteryx product exclusive to backcountry.com for the Fall 11/Winter 2012 season in the states. backcountry.com will work with you regardless to make sure you received the right piece of gear. The regular Alpha SV does not have a powder skirt. So if the one you have at hand is equipped with a powder skirt you got the Tall. Hope it helped. Please click the "helpful" below.
