These pants are shells so no insulation. I usually wear a 200 weight merino base layer with these pants and I am fine down to the mid teens. I prefer shell only as it allows you to be more dynamic with your base layering system depending on the temp that day

There isnt any insulation with these pants. There made to keep outr the wind and snow with out building up condinsation. depending on the temp you will want to layer with a base and insulating layer under.
