Received the Stoic Bombshell Insulated (Beehive color) a few weeks back - have yet to try it outdoors. My question is, the fabric seems very, very soft and smooth compared to the non-insulated Stoic Bombshell (wife's - different color), and my Stoic Bombshell Bib (Deep/Vintage). Those two have a thicker, more durable feeling to them. Why is it that the Bombshell Insulated is that way - or did I receive a jacket that was possibly not treated??

same shell material, and same laminate, but the two layer does not need the internal bonded layer, and so makes the material feel lighter

@bill hartlieb: Hmmm I'm pretty sure the specifications for the Bombshell Insulated is "[shell] Bombshell (3-layer, mechanical stretch)" - the exact same description for the non-insulated Bombshell. I can understand somewhat if the Bombshell BIB used a little heavier material, but even the non-insulated Bombshell jacket seems to have a heavier material than the insulated jacket.

bombshell bib is heavier face fabric for more durability. the three layer materials are heavier because of the internal layer. the bombshell insulated is only two layer - outside shell and membrane.
