Quick question. Does the hood on this detach, or easily fold down into a collar? I hate having a hood flapping around behind me when I don't need it (most days, it seems, out here in CA.) Thx.

It does not zip off and has no mechanism for stowing in the collar. That said, I have yet to notice any flapping. If you cinch the drawstrings a bit, you should be just fine.
