I need a really warm softshell jacket for downhill skiing with my family. I am bigger so I need to have something that fits a big girl who still loves to ski the trees! I want a jacket that lets me move and doesn't bind. Is this the best coat? Is there something better?

This would be a decent option, but it's not really warm. It sounds like you'd be better off going with the Venta SV or even a Stingray or Tempest. The latter two are proper ski jackets with powder skirts, more pockets, a more relaxed fit and totally waterproof.
