I am new to the sport. Is this a good match for a 5'10 woman with a size 9.5 foot beginner with hopes of improvement but no plans for park riding.

Yeah. It's basically an all mountain board, but its wider so that you can ride powder. If that's your plan, go for it. Otherwise I'd recommend a true all-mountain board. Also, this one might be a bit long for you so check the sizing chart. However, if you want to do some serious alpine work, the longer board will let yuou go faster.however i'd suggest not getting a Wide board. That would be for guys with larger feet that have a problem with them hanging over the edges of the board. your womens size 9.5 would not be an issue with a regular width board, mens or womens.
