Awesome, thank you so much for your response below! I did consider down, because Tom is very conscious of weight factor… Should I look at another jacket in down? Any suggestions on what best fit the tick would be great!

One thing to consider with the Dually that is unique among insulator jackets is that the synthetic fill is actually waterproof, so for wet and humid weather, this will be the most efficient of any jacket, down or synthetic. A sub-benefit of using this type of fill (Thermatek is basically waterproof treated Primaloft) is the treatment and the way it is laminated in place, adds life to the loft over seasons of use. The laminated fill also leaves the face fabric smooth (as in, not covered in baffle stitch lines) so it bounces weather and abuse better.
