Winter over night??
Has anyone used this pack for over night winter trips? I have the Marmot Lithium sleeping bag, and other backpacking gear. (its in the lightweight class)
How do you think this pack will do for an over nighter? Should I consider getting the Kestrel 48 instead?

i own this pack, but i am not an ultralighter! i always carry a tent or a hammock. because of the volume of gear (read layers) that you need to carry in winter i would say no, this is not a winter pack. However, I am a Hoosier. My winter pack consists of little more than a tent or hammock and a couple pads and a bag (MTN Hardwear Ultralamina 32...in which i have slept in 18 degrees F). you can do it...and maybe a stove and some food... as long as you are not above the tree line. best of luck to you brudder!...as long as you are not above tree line. just dont leave your cojones at home...i pack summer overnights in this pack...albeit with a bit of overkill
