Is this beanie long enough to cover your ears? I'm looking for a hat that would be great for steep climbing on the skins in the backcountry. Needs to be light and very breatheable, but want one that will cover my ears for the cold windy days!

Yes it will cover your ears. But I would highly recommend looking at the Icebreaker Chase beanie- that is our lightest weight beanie and my go to for skinning. The other option would be the Pocket200 hat- it is a double layer for the warmer days.
