I'm 5'6 / 140lbs and ski in vail/steamboat most weekends. Will ski 170cm moment tahoes most days, but looking for a fun powder ski for this year. Any thoughts on whether bent in 183 would be good addition?
Thanks.

I'm 215 so the 183s were too short. I think 183 would be the right length for 140 lbs. When I sold my bent chetlers I bought some 190 cm Bibby Pros. I like the Bibbys better but might just be because the length suits me better. They are quite a bit stiffer too so that worked for me. Be careful, I believe Bibbys have different flex patterns for different lengths. The one thing I liked more about the bents is the tighter radius. You can have fun in powder then rip around on the groomers.

Jim - I have the Bent's in 183 and yes they ski short, unless you are going to ride switch consider mounting them back a bit, I mounted center and the tips dive when I try to drive the ski. I'm 6' and 190# so should have bought the 192. But a great ski.

I'm your exact size and weight. Can't help give good advice as I haven't skied on the Bent Chetlers yet, but I did just buy the 183's. I was worried about the size, just like you going from a 170 Black Diamond Verdict, but all the research and reviews pointed to the same thing, the Bent's ski increadibly short because of the rockered tips. And they ski short because they have a close to center mount, I actually freaked out a bit after getting them mounted because the front of the ski seemed so short. But that's how they are meant to be skied. From everything I've heard when comparing to other skis, you can't go wrong with the Bents!!!! Great for pow, relatively stiff so they are great for the skied out crud, and even hold a good edge on the groomers. I can't wait to try them out.
