Prophet 90 or Prophet Flite? 6'1" 185lbs Intermidiate....

By Ranked #14 - All Mountain Skis November 10, 2011

Prophet 90 or Prophet Flite? 6'1" 185lbs Intermidiate. Are the Flites too soft for my weight? I'm also thinking 179cm. Any thought/comments?

Also, I went a bit shorter than I usually do (172) to keep the swing & skinning weight down (I ski in the Alps - do a lot of tight couloir descents). Have been very glad I did that - has made a minimal difference to their float, while making the ski much easier to toss around (and no real loss of edge grip). Also makes these a joy whenever I take them into bumps - tip is very forgiving, so these are actually a great little mogul ski.

Demo'd both the 90's & the Flites in a bunch of different conditions before and thought it was a very easy call - 90's are BY FAR the better ski. 90's are a lively ski that makes a variety of turn shapes easily in most conditions; the Flites just felt like a sluggish AT cruiser (think the old Volkl Supersport... ugh). There wasn't a single thing the Flites did as well as the 90's and in some areas, like delivering energy back to you on hardpack, they were way, way worse. Go with the 90's - they are the best & most versatile ski I've ever tried.
