Does anyone know how the waterproofing and padding is on this? I'm hoping to use it as a photobag when I go skiing. Now, I'm not expecting to take hard core wipeouts, but just some basic bumps? And if I happen to go down, is the snow going to seep through the material? Again, I'm not expecting anything crazy like being able to take it through a lake or anything (especially considering the price).

I used this bag in Rome. I had all my camera equipment in it and it started raining really hard, so I put the rain fly over the bag. It kept the entire bag and my back completely dry. It's a great bag. Plenty of compartments and space for cameras and other stuff. What I love most are the small details, like the elastic bands that cinch up the extra strap length that usually hang down. The only thing I didn't like about it is the zipper tabs are actually quite noisy. I removed a bunch of them because they make a jangling sound when you walk with the bag on.
