Would this jacket keep me warm in the coldest days of NY winter?...

Would this jacket keep me warm in the coldest days of NY winter? I am trying to decide between this one and the Patagonia Pipe Down Jacket, which appears to be much warmer, but it's also more of a ski jacket and much 'chunkier'...I am very small and skinny and get cold easily.

Hi! I can totally sympathize with you - I'm also small and skinny so I'm cold all the time too! The good thing, though, is that even the XS size jackets will let you fit more layers underneath than usual. :) If you're concerned about warmth and trying to decide between the two, I would go with the Patagonia Pipe Down jacket. The Patagonia Micro Puff jacket is warm enough for temps in the teens but not for very much lower than that, especially if the winds are brutal. Otherwise, I would highly recommend checking out the other jackets that Backcountry offers. There are a few other options that are at least as warm as the Pipe Down jacket but at a lower cost. :)

It's more than warm enough for Long Island winters, which are the only NY winters I'm familiar with. It should be good down to about 20-25F depending on how warm your body generally is.
