Outdoor Research Axcess Jacket - Men's
Hey Backcountry, Considering this axcess instead of the Arcteryx...

Hey Backcountry,
Considering this axcess instead of the Arcteryx Sabre SV which I would fit a medium.
I'm 5'8" 180lbs Barrell chested 42", athletic. 32 waist 31 inseam, shorter torso ,longer legs what size OR Axcess jacket would you suggest? would like to be able to layer my Patagonia down sweater under it if necessary

One more thing, Gary - you can buy both and return one, just to be on the safe side, but I am leaning towards medium. It's a kille jacket!

Several things. This jacket has a very relaxed fit. If you are a medium with the Sabre (in a jacket that Arcteryx describes as their most relaxed fit), then for sure a medium will work here as OR apparel tends to be more roomy in general. I'd hesitate to go with a Small for arm length reasons... Also, there is insulation in this jacket... It is not a ton, but there is 60g of synthetic Enduraloft in the body of this jacket. Pair that with a Patagonia down sweater and you'll be ready for the coldest backcountry conditions. Just wanted to bring that to your attention as that is the other big difference between the Sabre and the Axcess...
