Ok so the Alpha SV is the only jacket that mentions '489N' GoreTex proshell fabric. What is 489N? I think i want 489N.
Are any of the other Jackets made of the same material (489N)? Most just say Proshell.. or GoreTex Proshell 3L. While the Proshell is great.. im still curious, Is there a difference? The jump in price would lead me to believe there is?
I plan on destroying this jacket so any additional toughness is a must for me.
Anyone?

the 489n is a tighter weave of fabric like a higher thread count on sheets this is the toughest and best out there!

The 489N refers to the face fabric, which is a crazy durable false twist nylon (if you want to get fabric tech geek). Proshell refers to the Gore Membrane and woven backer (the inside"fabric"), which is more durable and lighter than the knit back on GoreTex Performance. There is a huge range of face fabrics used with GoreTex membranes, and this stuff is the bomb. The Theta SV also uses this face fabric, and is a bit looser fit. Good luck destroying it...
