I'm not quite sure which glove to go with, the Alpha SV Glove or the Vertical SV? I like both, really, but I'm not sure which glove would be a better choice considering the length/style difference. Does anyone know which glove usually performs better? If I'm going to drop the cash on one of these, I want to make sure they will work to their full potential. I have to admit, the Alpha SV glove sounds much better, considering the possibility of being buried in snow. I feel like my sleeves will ride up on my Alpha LT with the Vertical glove.

I've got the Alpha SV gloves as well, and I believe without reservation, that they are the best gloves I've ever seen.I've now worn them for about 40 days total(got them last year in Jan)and they have broken in even more-if this can be believed,so now I can't even tell I'm wearing them-at all.Far and away the best gloves available for extreme cold snowsports or climbing. In my experience with these gloves-and I use them in all sorts of conditions but all in well below freezing temps-they've become my staple go to glove.

It really depends more on your style and functional preferences. I don't like gauntlet gloves because they feel bulky and constricting, even these Arc'teryx ones (and I think the gauntlet looks old-school at resorts). The gauntlets are easier to take on and off because you don't need to adjust the jacket cuff each time. I've used both, and prefer the Vertical SV, and use them mostly for skiing. Climbers tend to go more for the Alpha SV. Either one will stay put well and seal out the elements. I haven't had any problems with cuffs riding up over my Vertical SV and have used them in some super deep conditions with cartwheels and other crash styles involved.

Go with the Alpha SV. The gauntlet style glove is best suited to most snowsports. I cant imagine why anyone would want such a short glove like the vertical SV. I own the Alpha SV glove. If you have crazy long fingers than they may not be the glove for you. Otherwise they are a fantastic glove with unreal dexterity.
