How do you use these in your layering system? Underneath a shell pant or as an over-everything layer? I'm thinking the latter makes more sense.

Use as a mid or over layer. They are water resistant and the fabric will hold up to some abuse, but not a lot. These work great under a waterproof shell to provide a lot of warmth.
