In my expert optinion, after months of research, is that medium faces are generally bigger than small faces but, oddly smaller than large faces. Hope this helps.
Seriously, medium/small seems to correlate well with narrower or women's faces while medium/large tend towards men's faces. The "Reactor Max" on this page really are a Large Face sunglass, very few women or narrow-faced men would like them.
