I have the small bag and I have two questions about the straps.
1. The ratchet-type strap that is adjustable is great, but what do I do with the extra length?
2. The waist strap is really long. Is there a way to pack away the waist strap when not in use?

You can trim the extra length and melt the end with a flame to seal it keep it from unraveling.
