Ok my son who will be 13 is going on his first scout hiking trip...

Ok my son who will be 13 is going on his first scout hiking trip and we are torn between the Aether 60 and the atmos 65. He is 5'6" and about 125 they have both been recommended to us but which would be better for him. For atleast the next 1-2 years he will only be doing 1 night hikes with it.

You could go with either. More versitile with the Aether, though!

I'd go for the Aether...its got a more substantial frame and interchangeable hip belts for better sizing.
