I've worn many Columbia "Omni Tech" Technology garments, but they don't compare to HyVent in both breathability and waterproofness.

TNF's detailing & lifetime warrantee! I had a pair of TNF ski pants I wore for about 10 years before the waterproof inner lining started to break down & leak. I sent 'em back & TNF refunded 100% of my original purchase price since they didn't make the pant anymore. Awesome customer service! BTW - I also have a Venture jacket & consider it the best bang-for-the-buck rain shell out there (if purchased on sale). Great fit & detailing, dead waterproof & impressively breathable. I like the gridded interior - it keeps the inside from feeling slimy or clammy when you're working hard.

Hey, mostly the brand... I would put TNF Hyvent material on the same page as Columbia Omi-Tech as far as breathability/waterproofness...
