You can also get an extension to take your hitch from a 1 1/4" to a 2". I would suggest not doing this though. I tried it at first and you get a lot more movement from the rack while driving. I hit a speed bump and knocked my bikes into my bumber and scratched the paint. Shoot for a rack that is an exact match for your hitch.

Escapes typically come with a 1 1/4". I would strongly recommend that you buy a rack with the correct size hitch because it will give you a more solid connection to your car than if you have to use an adapter.

It should work fine, just find out the specific size of your receiver hitch (2" or 1.25") and order the correct one...

Measure your receiver hitch to make sure it's 2". Many are 1 1/4". Though you can pick up a reducer at a store to make this work if you really like this particular bike rack.
