I have both the 6 and the 3. The 3 inch do not ride up nearly as much as the 6 inch. But keep in mind that these 3 inch ones are very short and are essentially briefs since the little legs come up to crotch level in no time.

Yes, but does the 3 in. version ride up just as much as the 6 in. one? I presume that it is less, but I'm not sure.

All boxer briefs tend to ride up a bit. The lower hem is always going to slide upwards where the leg is a little more narrow.
