How durable is this jacket? It looks like it would tear pretty easy. Does it feel strong?

Above all it's made to be abrasion resistant. I had the chance, with one that was already damaged, to try to push my thumbs through it. It's possible to do so, but it gives and stretches quite a bit beforehand. I've actually tugged and rubbed at these without any damage, it's really punctures that you should be concerned with, but ultimately any of those situations would see your body getting damaged, too. Something that really punched into it hard or for a long time might be able to work its way through. It's less durable than a thicker material - no surprise. For its thickness, it's very tough.
